I’m on vacation in Tokyo right now and on September 17th I went to takadanobaba AREA to see 7 bands. I’ll try to post a little note about each performance in case anyone is curious. 🙂
Fourth band on stage this night was DIMLIM and I was actually a bit surprised that they performed so early. I thought they were going to play right before Ribelio who hosted this event.
They started up with strobe-lights hitting the dark stage and fans screamed their names as they entered. Sho kicked off the performance with a shrilling, ear-piercing cry that sent chills down my spine. Absolutely wonderful. When he started singing I was all over again stunned and amazed of what that man can do with his voice, that range between darkest growl and highest screams and how easily and rapidly he could turn between these two.
As expected, this performance was cramped with headbanging of all sorts. I really likes Sho’s clothes, which you can see on the pictures below. But he didn’t cover his entire upperbody this time. One arm had that long sleeve and the other shoulder and arm was naked. His hair was blond (not pink and blue) and put in a mop of hair on one side. His makeup was just like in their latest band-photos, a “scary” side and an “innocent” side.
They encourage the audience to do the “wall of death” twice. retsu had quite a spooky face by the way. Half side white and half side black with a really long blond bang that mostly covered the light part. He looked like a skeleton with red mouth in the dark.
I got really glad when they played “Shochou” since it’s one of my favorites, and the video is awesome too.
They had a short break to drink water. I could clearly hear most of the fans screaming after “Issei”, who apparently is a favorite. Old D.I.D-member and all…
I would like to know more about Sho’s history, ’cause he’s a real talent. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s the Diru-Kyo of the future. ^_- His performance was passionated. He pressed his hand against the ear, clawed his hair and screamed in agony. His entiry body was so tense and he held the mike as if he wanted to strangle it. He is very charismatic. At this point I was happy that I chose to give my money to DILIM when entering the venue.
When the show was over, he didn’t say thanks or anything. He just ended the last note and then he stomped off the stage.
Bye bye Sho!
I truly recommend you guys to see DIMLIM live. Amazing! ❤
