I’m on vacation in Tokyo right now and on September 17th I went to takadanobaba AREA to see 7 bands. I’ll try to post a little note about each performance in case anyone is curious. 🙂 A big thanks to the service of Ticket Japaaan who helped me to get my hands on concert tickets for this journey as well. ❤
You can see all my posts from this night HERE.
First band on stage this night was LAVANS, and to be honest I didn’t know much about them. I happened to see outside the venue that they celebrated the vocalist – NANA’s – birthday, even though it’s a little bit early. Cute arrangement as always. 🙂
When the curtain opened, they all stood in line on stage, except NANA who sat down with a serious face. He was very petit and cute and truly gave everything when they started up with an energetic and melodic song.
I noticed that they had problems to make the entire audience to engage. I guess many fans was there for another band and LAVANS are not that famous yet. That hurts me a bit, ’cause I believe they deserved more attention and cheer. At least was seizen just as crazy and dedicated as usual. My personal view is that you always should give love to the people performing on stage, even if their music isn’t you cup of tea, ’cause imagine how scary it can be up there otherwise. It’s simply the nice thing to do
To sum up, they were a good live band with good energy. Sometimes they reminded me of the old – and a bit more rockier – An Cafe. Maybe it was because of NANA’s voice? I’m not sure yet. All members did an amazing job and the vocalist who seemed a little bit serious in the beginning started to smile in the end. The bassist’s jacket was to die for – so beautiful – long and decorated with zippers. I wish it was visible in his profile picture.
The drummer wore this red fluffy jacket that looked really hot. I wonder why they wear such a thing when they probably are the bandmember who execises the most on stage 🙂
The melodic part of the performance eventually transformed into a pretty heavy part with a lot of growl and headbanging. LAVANS is a pretty new bad which had it’s debut in May this year, but they were really talented musicians. This is after all not their first band. So all I can say is: keep up the good work!
