the GazettE – 13th Anniversary Live & NEW ALBUM RELEASE (personal)

Today we went to Kudanshita and Nippon Budokan to see the GazettE – 13 anniversary live!

the GazettE

There was a lot of people of course, and outside the arena they sold merchandice and held an exhibition. The goods were sold out early… when I reached the booth, almost half of the stuff was gone. Oh yes… I bough a scarf also… but it’s not in the picture.

There was a message board where all fans could write a message to the band…

People could pose with an instrument from any member and get photographed. These girls are posing on Ruki’s… box? I don’t know what to call it…IMG_5726
Big, big photos of the GazettE members…

When we finally got into the venue, we realised that we had been granted awesome seats, just in front of the stage on the FIFTH ROW! *so lucky* (Im the red dot in front of the stage on the picture below. ^^)

This was my sixth time to see the GazettE live, my third time here in Japan. I can tell you that my neck has never been so sore after a concert before. I can rarely hold my head up right now. So in other word, the concert was so, so awesome.

There was a giant stair made of stone in the middle of the stage. When the concert started, spotlights started to climb up, step by step, while a big screen counted up to 13.

The members entered the stage, except Ruki, but when he started to sing I finally saw that he was sitting at the top of the stairs, lightened up by spotlights, behind something that looked like a podium.

I really like the GazettE’s current look, soldier-like. And Ruki wore a skirt, which I couldn’t see on their new photos. But the black skirt and the golden wide and shiny belt suited him well. Uruha looked awesome in his uniform, black makeup and pale lenses. Well, they all look awesome. Maybe their best look so far… (?)

In the beginning of the concert, numerous big flames bursted up from the stage and we could feel the heat where we were standing. It must have been extremely hot on stage.

They played a lot of favorites, like Akai one piece, Inside Beast, Linda ~candy dive pinky heaven~, DISCHARGE, Filth in the beauty, Reila, Headache man, Venomous Spider’s web, My devil on the bed and even a totally NEW SONG! (It sounded great)

But best of all was to hear “Miseinen” live, which I’ve been longing for so long, I thought it would never happen. But tonight it did. After Ruki had presented the song, their was a “boom” and glitter fell from the ceiling down on us. It felt magical.

The GazettE also announced upcoming tours in Japan and a NEW ALBUM – “DOGMA” – that will be released in August!

A magical night that I will never forget. The GazettE for the win. ^_-
And in six days I will honor them by getting a tattoo of their logo in traditional Japanese tattooing style “tebori” (no machine).

I think there is much more to tell about this concert, but unfortunatly I’m soo tired and demolished right now that I hardly can write. 🙂 How you get happy regarding the album news though!

On our way from the arena, a bunch of jrock artists stood outside and handed out flyers – as usual. We saw several artists we know and love, like Kuroyuri to kage and GOSSIP! I think it’s awesome that the Gossip-guys had dressed up totally just to do this. ^^

  1. Your so fortunate. I’m going to LA. Xenon has opened a store in Little Tokyo and I hope to get some GazettE stuff. I am going to interview Halko (Hariko) Momoi at Anison USA if I can really think of some good questions.

  2. Sounds soooo awesome. The GazettE are the best in the world. America has no clue. I am sure you will get to meet them someday. You are the lifeline for some many of us out here who love the music and the scene.
Meet the CEO of Cure Magazine who was here from Japan and the manager of Xenon here in LA. Very nice meet. I’m going back to do some serious shopping. Dir En Grey shirt for sure and a bunch other stuff. Great to be in a big city and see friends.

  3. Sounds like you had an incredible time! I can’t wait to see them live.

I’m a bit new to all this, but my brother has been listening to the GazettE for years. I recently attained tickets to their LA concert in May for his bday, but I was wondering if digital cameras are allowed in their concerts? I would love to take pictures.

Sorry if this is a redundant question~ >- < Just trying to learn as much as possible for this to go smoothly. Thank you!

    • No problem! Just ask any questions you have. 🙂

Unfortunately, photo- and video cameras are always strictly forbidden at GazettE-concerts, so noone should bring that along due to respect for the band’s wishes. There’s also a risk that the camera will be taken away from you if you try (and everybody around you will be angry).

This is nothing unusal. Cameras are usually forbidden during Japanese VK-concerts. They want people to enjoy the concerts instead of focusing on filming/picture-taking. 🙂 I know how great it is to bring home some visual memories (some smaller bands accept it), but mostly we have to settle down with what’s left in our heart and memory.

Anyway, I hope you get an wesome time at the concert. It’s absolutely wonderful to see the GazettE live. 🙂

      • Ooh I see! That sounds perfectly reasonable! Thank you so much for replying; I really appreciate it. 🙂 Answering this gave me a big relief (wouldn’t want any catastrophe to happen if I didn’t know and actually brought a camera)! And yes, I look forward to seeing them live in a few months! 😀

  4. I just got my VIP ticket for San Francisco. $200+25 fee also plane. hotel, food etc. . A lot of money but I know I would totally regret it in the future.
