Owl café in Japan

You may know that there are “cats cafes” in Japan. I visited one myself once. (Calico cat cafe in Shinjuku)

Lately we have heard of a new kind of cafes: Owl cafes or “Fukurou cafes” (フクロウカフェ).

When visiting a owl cafe, you get accompanied by these grandiose birds while getting something to eat or drink.

Is this good or bad?  Some people consider it being a bad thing for the owls who should be able to fly freely in bigger areas. Owls are nocturnal animals and must stay awake during the days for the customers. I must say that i don’t like this idea at all.

What do you think?

  1. I went to one today and I can only say that I regret it :(. I felt so sorry for the owls when I started to think about their situation and the stress they must feel about all the people running about. Don’t visit one!
