IN BLOSSOM LYRICS (translated)

Wasted
huge respect to you
I believed initall
I was about to be deceived
What garbage!
why so serious?
I believed it all
Which is a true face?
Ties of blood
Rain of abuse
It’s finished now

Umiotoshi okizari no te nani mo tsukamenai hibi
Yubiori itami kazoeru wasurenu yō ni

I need a meaning to live for
Nōri ni nedzuku shisō
Nothing changes even if I die
Sabitsuita ha de kizamu
Yuiitsu sakenu Ties of blood
Akaku zōo ga konjiru

I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
Kazoeta kizu to satte ike

Azayaka ni irodoru kirei ni saita ne
Kure hajimeta yō ga subete o mitodokete iru

Until this wound becomes the trace
Yurigo no naka nemuru risō wa kiete kurenai
Sōmatō ni utsuru naraku to asobu yami

Midare kami ni shitataru iro wa ore ga kaita risō to wa chigai
Yogore sugite ajikenai atama doko o hagaseba tobichiru rakuen?
I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
Kazoeta kizu ni wa tōtei oyobanu nando saite mo uzuki dashite shimau
Ierudokoroka fuhai o kuitome rare mo shinai

Azayaka ni irodoru kirei ni saita ne
Kure hajimeta yō ga subete o mitodokete iru

I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
Kazoeta kizu to satte ike

Translation:

Wasted
huge respect to you
I believed in it all
I was about to be deceived
What garbage!
why so serious?
I believed it all
Which is a true face?
Ties of blood
Rain of abuse
It’s finished now

This hand that was born and abandoned now can’t grasp anything 1
I count on my fingers the pain, so I wouldn’t forget

I need a meaning to live for
An idea takes hold in my mind
Nothing changes even if I die
With a rusted blade, I carve
Ties of blood are the one thing I can’t sever
All red, hatred mixes in

I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
Die away, along with these wounds I’d counted

They adorn vividly—have blossomed beautifully
The sun that has started to set is making sure of it all 2

Until this wound becomes the trace 3
The dream of sleeping in the cradle won’t disappear
Flashing before my eyes, I see darkness playing with hell

The colour trickling over dishevelled hair is not the one I had pictured
The head is dull and too dirty. Where should I tear so that heaven may burst out?
I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
Even if I slash so much it’s unparalleled by the wounds I’d counted, it still starts to ache
It doesn’t even fight off the decay, much less heal me

They adorn vividly—have blossomed beautifully
The sun that has started to set is making sure of it all

I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
Die away, along with these wounds I’d counted

Translator’s Notes: 1. I paraphrased it a bit to make it sound better. Literally it’s “Hand that was born and abandoned; living a life where I can’t grasp anything (with it).” And by grasp you can assume it’s meant “attain.” But I left grasp because of the motif of counting with one’s fingers.
2. There’s some really nice wordplay here but it’s impossible to get properly across in English. 綺麗に咲いた means “blossomed beautifully” but it can also be “opened up cleanly” (and if written as 綺麗に裂いた, it means literally “cleanly cut open” and it’s pronounced the same). Obviously, this phrase is referring to wounds because it’s implied the protagonist is hurting someone (or perhaps himself). And then we have the line with the sun. So the sun made sure things have blossomed (like flowers would do). But it also means that metaphorical light is going out of the protagonist (because he’s lost it), and therefore that “light” that is going away from him made sure that he made the wounds in the first place. Do you see why this is hard ;~;
3. This should probably be “until this wound turns into a scar” because in Japanese there’s a word that means both trace and scar and Ruki probably just…picked the wrong one in English.

Kanji:

Wasted
huge respect to you
I believed initall
I was about to be deceived
What garbage!
why so serious?
I believed it all
Which is a true face?
Ties of blood
Rain of abuse
It’s finished now

産み落とし置き去りの手 何も掴めない日々
指折り痛み数える 忘れぬように

I need a meaning to live for
脳裏に根付く思想
Nothing changes even if I die
錆び付いた刃で刻む
唯一裂けぬTies of blood
赤く憎悪が混じる

I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
数えた傷と去って逝け

鮮やかに彩る 綺麗に咲いたね
暮れ始めた陽が全てを見届けている

Until this wound becomes the trace
揺り籠の中眠る理想は消えてくれない
走馬灯に映る奈落と遊ぶ闇

乱れ髪に滴る色は俺が描いた理想とは違い
汚れすぎて味気ない頭 どこを剥がせば飛び散る楽園?
I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
数えた傷には到底及ばぬ何度裂いても疼き出してしまう
癒えるどころか腐敗を食い止められもしない

鮮やかに彩る 綺麗に咲いたね
暮れ始めた陽が全てを見届けている

I change despair into hope
I break you and get hope
数えた傷と去って逝け
