Kuroku Sunda Sora To Zangai To Katahane LYRICS (translated)

I’ve felt the hate rise up in me…
This wet soil ate my garbage…

Aoku nigoru sora ni jiyū nado nai aru no wa sugasugashiki Despair
Ensei-tekina shikō de nureta katahane No ore ga nedzuku unmei

Yurari fuwari uwanosora o oyogu
Kono mi sakeru hodo

Kanashimi wa barabara ni chitte
Isshinfuran kaku sōzō ni
Massakasama ni ochite iku
Mō ano sora ni todokanai
Me no mae ni saku hananoyōni
Haru o matsu koto sae dekinai
Tōzakaru ishiki no naka de
Hi genjitsu o ashita ni kasaneru bakari

Tsuchi ni nari sokoneta okizari no ashi ga
Kotchi ni oide to sashimaneite iru
Miugoki mo torezu amazarashi no kusa
Yagate nokotta hane Mo moge mi wa kuchiru

Corpse and soil
Genjitsu o mitsume tsudzukeru kono-me sae tsubure ochireba kōfuku ka?
Koko ni chirabaru zangai to kasu
I can laugh again?

I feel nothing anymore
Shiten ga bureru
Aoku nigoru sora ga kuroku sumu

Isshinfuran kaku sōzō ni
Massakasama ni ochite iku
Mō ano sora ni todokanai
Me no mae ni saku hananoyōni
Haru o matsu koto sae dekinai
Mō kore de sayonara shiyou
Sa~a kazu o kazoe samenu yō ni

Corpse ando soil

Translation:

I’ve felt the hate rise up in me…
This wet soil ate my garbage…

There’s nothing like liberty in this sky clouded with blue. What is here is a brisk despair.
I’m stained with pessimistic thoughts. That’s the destiny that the one-winged1 me takes root in.

Without getting to voice my words of complaint, I become food for insects crawling the ground.
I go crazy with this inferiority complex, but even so, I cannot give up nil.

Swaying, gently, I roam the sky above2
Until my body breaks

Sadness is falling all around
In such intense imagination,
I’m falling headfirst
I can’t reach that sky anymore
Like the flowers blooming before me,
I cannot even wait for spring
In my fading consciousness,
I can only layer unreality over the future3

The abandoned roots that have failed to become soil
Are beckoning for me to come closer
Unable to move, my gloom is exposed to rain
Eventually, my remaining wing comes off, and my body rots

Corpse and soil
Without getting to voice my words of complaint, I become food for insects crawling the ground.
I go crazy from this inferiority complex, but I still cannot give up nil.
If even my eyes that keep gazing at reality became useless, and I fell, would I be happy?
I transform into one of the corpses that are scattered here.
I can laugh again?

I feel nothing anymore
My vision blurs
The sky clouded with blue clears away into black

Sadness is falling all around
In such intense imagination,
I’m falling headfirst
I can’t reach that sky anymore
Like the flowers blooming before me,
I cannot even wait for spring
Let’s make this a goodbye
And so as I count, I hope that I won’t wake up
Gently…I close my eyes
Peacefully…let’s end

Corpse and soil
Without getting to voice my words of complaint, I become food for insects crawling the ground.
I go crazy with this inferiority complex, but even so, I cannot give up nil.
If even my eyes that keep gazing at reality became useless, and I fell, would I be happy?
I transform into one of the corpses that are scattered here.
I can laugh again?

Translator’s Notes: 1. 片翅 can mean “one-wing(ed)” or like, “broken wing(s)”, but it also means “imperfect.” This is clear in Japanese, but in English not so much. The mention of “inferiority complex” is because the protagonist feels imperfect, but the whole one-winged thing is important because of the motifs used. HOWEVER, I translated the title with “broken wings” because it sounds better (or doesn’t since the title just sounds stupid in English :’))
2. There is a pun here that, once again, only works in Japanese: 上の空 means inattentiveness/absent-mindedness, but it’s also literally “the sky above”. Considering the context of the song, I had to put it as sky. But basically it’s “I float around in absent-mindedness.”
3. I didn’t want to paraphrase this because it’s a cool line but basically what this means is “I can only imagine something unrealistic instead of what really waits for in the future.”

Kanji

:

I’ve felt the hate rise up in me…
This wet soil ate my garbage…

Despair

Corpse and soil
I can laugh again?

I feel nothing anymore

Corpse and soil
I can laugh again?

Welcome! This is not an actual news site but a personal blog, run by an ordinary person who loves visual kei. This is my space where I ventilate thoughts and values and shares happenings within the scene. My goal is to make information easy to access and to support artists and movements that I admire. Especially smaller bands that need an extra push in the djungle of major bands. English is not my native tounge so please condone my linguistic mistakes.
