YOHIO documentary episode 5 (translation)

As I told you in a previous post, I’ve been asked by the Fanclub of Yohio in Chile to translate some episodes of his documentary and will post the translations here as well.

So here you go. This is what’s being said in the 5th episode of YOHIO’s documentary:

Translation

[In the studio]

Man:
Can you tell us shortly, either in English or Japanese, what you have been doing today in the studio.

YOHIO:
[Can’t hear] Japan never needs talk for stuff like this and my dad has brought up all these ideas, I get angry. It’s only a fucking doll.

YOHIO

Man:
All you have to say is “Soon finished”. You can be extremely brief.

YOHIO:
Ok, but I can say “Today I have recorded [Something in Japanese]”

[In the car]

YOHIO:
Are we there yet? I need to pee.

YOHIO

[Title: P4 PREMIERE Stockholm] (P4 = Swedish radio channel)

Woman:
Konnichiwa. We would like to start like this. Come. We will be here.

[Recording]

Woman:
Are you this kind of person who never can relax?

YOHIO:
Definitely.

Woman:
Is that so?

YOHIO:
Yes. I’m not used to have free-time, I almost get panicked.

Woman:
It can be healthy to relax also.

YOHIO:
I can’t. I’ve tried. I get anxiety knowing that I’ve wasted a whole day just wandering around in the apartment. Even if that’s what I was supposed to do.

YOHIO:
I think it’s just a matter of time before the body says no if I continue working like this. That I never sleep and if I do, I only sleep for a few hours. And I work much more than a 17 year old usually should do.

YOHIO

YOHIO:
Unfortunatly, I often feel like a product, but it can’t be helped. I have put myself in this situation.

YOHIO

Tommy:
The pressure on YOHIO is so much bigger now than here, 2011, this is his band Seremedy. They were to Japan sometimes and played and clubs and such. There was no pressure on them to do anything good or bad.

YOHIO

Tommy:
Since we have been presented positively in media and whole Sweden stands behind saying “oh, that’s cool and fun and great”… of course it builds up an enormous pressure. As a dad, of course I get worried. The best thing would be to be unnoticed for three days or something. Just being able to sit at home, eating chips and watching movies, being with friends and don’t care about the career at all. Just close the door.

[YOHIO with his budgerigar]

YOHIO:
Hello. Hello Sora. Small baby. Hello. Sora. Don’t worry. You use to sit on my finger. He doesn’t want to.

YOHIO:
He has a nice character, larked with his wings… so I thought, he may be a good friend. And he is. Hello? Sora!

YOHIO

YOHIO:
I think you get pretty stressed up when there’s a lot of things that you want to do. Even though I’m still only 17, I feel “When will I have time to do everything I want to do?” I haven’t had that much spare time the last year, so when I finally get some time off, I don’t know what to do with it.

[Clips from YOHIO performing in Japan]

YOHIO:
I performed in Japan with my band Seremedy 2011 and in our last show I sang one of my own songs for the first time in front of an audience, I usually only played the guitar. When we got home, we got a mail from universal who asked if I wanted to do a solo career in Japan. Before I was promoted in Sweden, it was very peaceful to come home ’cause no one knew who I was. It’s harder now. Now everybody know who I am. It’s like “there he is”. You can never relax outside your own door.

YOHIO

[YOHIO and his father in the sofa]

Tommy:
You got the whole Tuesday and it’s 24 hours. What we need to do then is finishing all songs, all lyrics.

YOHIO:
All songs?

Tommy:
Tuesday needs to consist of 1600 hours instead of 24, then we will make it. Ah, we just have to prioritize. Do what’s critical. The rest is out of our control. That’s how it is.

YOHIO

[Title: Album recording | Ninetone studio | Sundsvall]

Tommy:
What kind of cow was needed for the list?

YOHIO:
Drums.

Tommy:
Drums! Book a room.

[Tommy holds up a list of tasks]

YOHIO

Tommy:
Burning cows.

Tommy:
We use to say; is there any cows standing on the ice today. That includes stuff that we really need to do today, otherwise we’re screwed. That thing with “cows on the ice” is very common, we must step up, even if it’s a cow that is burning… which fire we need to extinguish… then we proceed to the cow on the ice. And then there is burning cows that melts through the ice and are sinking to the bottom so we must hire divers….

[People laughing]

Tommy:
…that helps us to catch the cows that are burning. And they are soaked in kerosene so they will burn all the way down to the bottom.

YOHIO:
We all have problems.

Man:
We have this watchword: Problem exists to turn up. I think that one is good.

Man:
We will work with the Japanese song. It’s hard to work with it since I have no clue of what he is singing. It’s just to record and hope we are lucky.

[YOHIO singing Sakura]

YOHIO

YOHIO:
What the fuck has happened?

Man:
We can take it from there, from sugite.

YOHIO:
I don’t get any air when breathing.

Man:
So what do you get?

YOHIO:
I don’t know.

YOHIO:
[Cant hear]

[YOHIO at his singing coach]

Susanne:
Of course you can’t sing today. You see what happens when you’re not well and don’t get any rest. It can’t turn out well.

Susanne:
Relax.

YOHIO

YOHIO:
When I’m angry, at something every day, it’s not fun.

Susanne:
No.

Susanne:
That means you can never have a bad day, and that’s very stressful and you feel “shit, I won’t be able to make this.” And that builds up sadness. After 6 months you will feel “this ain’t any fun anymore”.

[YOHIO walking the street]

YOHIO:
Of course you want to work with what you think is fun. But when you finally work with what you consider as fun, it doesn’t remain that fun anymore.

Tommy:
I don’t think he ever will be satisfied. He needs something to strive for. When you are satisfied, then you’re done and it can’t be improved. But everything can be improved.

[YOHIO with his friends]

Boy:
What, have you never eaten banana to tacos?

YOHIO:
Seriously?

Boy:
I’m serious!

Evenlina:
How many tomatoes do we need?

Boy:
Only two? Are you retarded?

Evenlina:
Yellow or red?

Boy:
Red!

Boy:
Yellow!

YOHIO:
If I wouldn’t have the friends I got that have a very good influence on me, I’m not sure I would cope it all.

YOHIO

Boy:
Oh, Star Wars! I want this!

Evenlina:
They might be disgusting!

YOHIO:
Then I wouldn’t be able to relax with anyone and just be me, fully.

Boy:
I love you.

[With children]

Little Girl:
That’s Emily!

YOHIO:
Emily and Skrollan.

Boy:
[Can’t hear]

YOHIO

Evenlina:
He told me in ninth grade that he was going to quit school, I told him, of course you have to go to upper secondary school. He said “No, ’cause after ninth grade I will go to Japan and become a rock star.” And I was like: “Are you stupid. You can’t be a rock star in Japan. School first, the get famous. And he said “No I know this is what I want.” And it turned out that way. So I need to take that back.

YOHIO

[Outside Friends arena]

YOHIO:
Friends arena looks a lot like Japanese venues, actually, so I feel a little bit like home. It feels nice.

[Title: Stockholm | Swedish Song Contest 2013 | Finale]

YOHIO:
I have got into this with the idea of becoming something. I won’t give up before I succeed. That’s why I want to win this game.

Welcome! This is not an actual news site but a personal blog, run by an ordinary person who loves visual kei. This is my space where I ventilate thoughts and values and shares happenings within the scene. My goal is to make information easy to access and to support artists and movements that I admire. Especially smaller bands that need an extra push in the djungle of major bands. English is not my native tounge so please condone my linguistic mistakes.
