This very day will always remind us of evil. Send your love to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This very day, 68 years ago, Japan became the very first victim of the most deadly weapon in the world created by human hands.

At 08.15, The United States followed the order of Harry Truman to destroy Hiroshima with the very first nuclear bomb used in war, ironically called “Little boy”.

Approximately 100 000 people died immediately or within a couple of hours. Just as many died later by radiation.

Some days later, August 9th, Nagasaki got destroyed by a nuclear bomb as well.

If there’s any true evil in the world, it lives in humans and takes shape in actions like this.

Send Japan a loving thought to remember and honor those innocent people who died or got hurt and for those who still might be suffering. Let pray this will never happen again.

  1. Though the Nagasaki and Hiroshima bombings were horrible indeed, let’s also remember the millions (!) of people who died under horrible conditions due to Japanese war-crimes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanking_Massacre to mention a particularly horrible example). This does not excuse the bombing of civilians but it’s also not the worst atrocity during world war 2 involving Japan (though perhaps the most dramatic).
