It grows!

At first I was disappointed. But I must admit – YOHIO’s “Heartbreak Hotel” starts to grow on me.

The more I listen to it (or rather watch it on YouTube and similar), I like it even more. I’ve even discovered myself sing along (and my neighbors too, I’m afraid.) But it all depends on YOHIO. It’s his performance, charisma, and visual style that makes my brain associate the song with positive and fascinating stuff. The more positive associations – the greater status gets the song.

A lot of our “favorite-songs” is actually “favorites” due to reasons that has very little to do with the song, isn’t that so? A song can “become better” when we start to associate it with positive things, like a promotion video, a movie or a happening in our life, memories…

In this case, I believe it’s the phenomena YOHIO that makes this song grow on me. I really wish him luck in the upcoming levels of the competition.

Well, SVT keeps removing all videos of his performance. Idiots. But I hope this one will work for a while.

Welcome! This is not an actual news site but a personal blog, run by an ordinary person who loves visual kei. This is my space where I ventilate thoughts and values and shares happenings within the scene. My goal is to make information easy to access and to support artists and movements that I admire. Especially smaller bands that need an extra push in the djungle of major bands. English is not my native tounge so please condone my linguistic mistakes.
