I’ve been watching a really nice anime lately: Mokke
It’s a beautiful tale about two sisters with special abilities.
I’ve heard that some call it “boring” but I really don’t agree. Ok, there weren’t any blazing action, gigantic mechs or futuristic cities… but the episode-stories were sweet and the characters were charming. It was relaxing to watch, cozy and beautiful. I wondered a lot if the folklore mentioned in the anime are authentic Japanese folklore…
Mokke has almost the same concept as Natsume Yuujinchou. There are two sisters, whereof the older one, Shizuru, can see spirits.
The younger one on the other hand, Mizuki, do easily get possessed by spirits. Spirits can sense he vulnerability and hence seek her up.
Shizuru is a little bit blend, but Mizuki is a lovely, energetic character hard not to love.
Their parents had a tough time dealing with their strange abilities and hence they left them to their grandparents care on the countryside. Their grandfather has a lot of knowledge in the occult and helps the sisters to understand and deal with the spirit world.
A lovely story for those of you that enjoy the spiritual theme.
And I really liked this opening-theme… it kind of grows on you. “Kokoro no Ato” with Riyu Kosaka.
