Japanese flee-market

Today there was a Japanese flee-market in Lava | Kulturhuset in Stockholm!

I visited it last year too but didn’t find it that interesting back then. Now I know why…

You got to be there first!

There are so many otakus who wants to visit it and the hall is so small that they must let people in in small groups. The first group grabs everything that’s nice so for those who are late… sorry, you only get the leftovers.

It was cold outside, but they served us hot tea and candy. ^^

When I arrived there was already a whole lot of people waiting in line, but I was among the first to be let in anyway, so I was lucky.

There was a little bit of this and a little bit of that in there. Mostly lolita clothing, manga magazines and cute Japanese toys and accessories. I couldn’t see anything visual kei related unfortunately.

It’s quite obvious that Japaneses likes cute animals… in all shapes and materials. Like these costumes for instance.

Both sellers and customers were dressed up for this occasion.

The lolita clothing was extremely cute and beautiful, but very expensive.

A huge amount of lovely Japanese nicknacks.

Some things were second hand items, other directly imported from Japan.

I love manga figures and considered to buy one of these. But I changed my mind since I didn’t find their quality good enough and even though the girls were very cute, I just don’t get why they all had to grab themselves on their breast or on their groin. (?)

Manga figures are often a bit perverted... ^^

After some intense shopping, I stumbled out and realized that the queue had become twice as long as when I stood there myself. I couldn’t help but to feel sorry for those who probably stood there waiting for nothing.

And here are some of my bargains… A nice white ruffled shirt with some kind of neck-accessory/tie-thingy. It sits really well on me so I’m happy that I bought it. Mostly I have bad luck when I buy clothes without trying them on first. The black skirt for instance is way too small (damn those hips and that ass!) But I will be able to sew something else of it, I’m sure.

A black laced choker!

A cute wrist-band with black and white lace decorated with details like a small chain and a cross. It only cost 10 SEK. (!)

Two pair of trousers/shorts that unfortunately didn't fit me either. But they were really cheap and I see a lot of possibilities to re-use the fabrics and create something else. :-)

A lolita-inspired rose with mourning crape, chain and cross. It can be pinned directly on fabrics or put on a diadem.

A white, cute and malleable / rubber-ish catpaw, nice to squeeze in stressed situations. It sits easy available on my handbag nowadays. I also found this litte stuffed bear... Panda Sensei! He might get a Santa hat to Xmas.

And last but not least: an art book teaching how to paint manga characters, especially in Shoujo-style. It seems pretty good and I can't wait to get some time over to start sketching.

It was a crazy day but I’m very satisfied with my findings. <3
