A Japanese giant salamander was recently seen walking ON LAND somewhere in Japan and a Twitter user grabbed the chance to capture this creature on film.
As you see, the local police was there as well by some reason. It’s not like the salamander could be dangerous for humans in any way. They have poor eyesight and eats insects, frogs, and fish.
In Japanese, the salamander is called Ōsanshōuo and it spends most of it’s time underwater. Cool fact is that they can be 50 years old!
Some say that the salamander were the inspiration behind Kappa, a legendary creatures in Japanese folklore.
